As we come to the end of another year that has flew by yet again. Many of us will be drawing our attention to the new year and wondering what it has in store for us. I’m sure it won’t be long for the #newyearnewme movement to gain some traction. However, one thing is certain, that is if you continue doing the exact same as this year you will obtain the same results.
It is up to you whether or not 2020 is a successful year. The saying ‘good things come to those who wait’ goes for some things but does not relate to your career development or personal goals. If you really want to see a change in the new year, you have to get the ball rolling yourself. Here are a few things you can take into consideration when setting goals and changing some habits fir the new year.
Go to Bed & Get Up Earlier
A lot of people underestimate the affect your sleep can have on your focus, motivation and your life in general. As it is such a vital part of your life getting up early and going to bed early can really help with productivity. Among reducing anxiety, depression and increasing energy. Sleep is a great factor in weight control as we burn a lot of calories while we sleep as our body is recovering from the day before. More sleep also reduces the risk of diseases and improves memory.
In the new year exercise should be a key factor of your daily routine, it can optimise the benefits of sleeping early/more and has many extra benefits. A common saying is “healthy body, healthy mind”. Exercise helps lower rates of dementia and depression as well as other diseases, helping to keep your mind clear to focus on goals and stay on track.
Goal setting is extremely important when thinking of what you want to achieve that year. A lot of people fall short of their goals because they set one big goal and work towards this goal without structure. There is more to goal setting than coming up with one big goal to achieve. There are a lot of tasks you have to carry out before achieving this. In order to achieve your main goal for the year it is beneficial to set smaller goals that will lead towards achieving this main goal.
